Assalammualaikum and good evening, so today's blog will be about the Sungai Kebun Bridge in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam

One of the future Brunei's modern monument, with its reflection towards the Malay Islamic Monarchy philosophy (MIB).  Sungai Kebun Bridge is expected to be finish around this year. According from Radio Television Brunei (RTB) in September 2016 stated that the bridge is 90% completed. So it should be soon!! Can't wait.

It will be the first ever cable-stayed bridge in Brunei with total length of 622m and the main span itself is 300m. Its being said that it will be the second longest with one pylon. I think from the point of view the one tower with the dome does show the MIB philosophy being put into the design and it does correlate with the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque.

Honestly in my opinion its quite a big and great move by the government to build a bridge. My late grandfather used to dream hoping there will be a bridge connecting Sungai Kebun with the BSB itself, since it takes around 30-45 minutes to go from BSB to Sengui Kebun. Hopefully soon as this bridge finished it will cut time to only 5-10 minutes. Additionally it will make BSB more lively as its being expected there will be 9000 cars passing the bridge daily and the government expected it will increase.

More updates towards the bridge soon so stay tuned!
